DescriptionA pair of high heeled crimson leather shoes, with darkened silver metallic thread embroidery at the front. They are bound with yellow ribbon galloon (trimmings) and fastened over the tongue with a yellow ribbon in a bow. This fits into a pair of patten clogs with sides of brocaded silk coloured red, blue and cream. The shoe is secured in place with the patten strap tied over the front. These were said to belong to Queen Anne.

Bows were popular with ladies wearing fine dresses in the 18th century as buckles often got caught on fabrics. The pattens were designed to raise the shoe up off the ground to prevent the wearer from getting their shoes dirty.
