DescriptionMilitary Tourniquet used to control bleeding . This instrument made it possible to amputate above the knee without the patient bleeding to death by cutting the flow from the femoral artery. Inscribed "Savigny". It is said to have been used at the Battle of Alexandria on March 21st 1801.
