For this wallpaper Walter Crane took inspiration from a William Morris design The Daisy. This design used a daisy motif that is botanical accuracy in form and colour. He used Morris's circular representation and plant form placing it against a stylised grass field as seen in Morris Daisy wallpaper design. Crane used a design alternately showing open and closed examples of the flower and he also created matching designs for a frieze and a dado.
