DescriptionUntitled Design, Coiled snake and star logo. Colour print from wood blocks 92 x 51 cm.
The name Evesham has been tentatively given to this design because of its same colour and similar design to the tiny sample in the Jeffery & Co sample log. The design on the Gallery specimen is incomplete and it's possible that the missing portion would reveal a match.
Like the "Tree" design created by Henry Wilson each piece appears to form half the overall design. This sample with its interwoven pattern is a reminder John Ruskin's interest in Celtic designs and his influence through such publications as the "Hobby Horse" magazine and the Arts & Crafts Exhibition Society.
