DescriptionDemolished in the 1950s, the Coronet is seen here across Wells Street viewed through the columns of St. George's Church. This painting was commissioned by the Committee for Local Collection in 1951. It was included in "Camberwell Past and Present" in 1953. The Coronet is shown here from the steps of St George's Church. At the time of that exhibition the cinema remained damaged and derelict. Living in West London, Dorothy Blackman was not a local artist and lived at 98 Ledbury Road, W11.
