DescriptionDurer print 'Martyrdom of the Ten Thousand'. One of the rarer subjects surviving of Durer’s woodcuts and a fine printing. It is mounted on a backing sheet of heavy paper with a strip pasted to the lower edge. Two heavy inked lines frame the print. At places the ink has seeped onto the print surface. In pencil at lower right is written 'Albrect Durer' in Henry Cuming's handwriting.

Signed with the artist's famous monogram, "AD", in bottom centre of print.
