DescriptionWilliam Keddie Forrester lived in Dulwich and was secretary of the South London Group from 1957 until his death in 1960. This is one of thirty works by this artist in the collection. Camberwell Palace opened in 1896 as the Palace of Varieties, with a company led by the famous Dan Leno. Rebuilt in 1899, it reopened under its new name with seating for over 2,000. Marie Lloyd, Harry Lauder and Harry Tate all appeared there. It closed in 1956 and was demolished soon after. This painting is one of thirty works by this Dulwich artist in the collection.
