DescriptionThis watercolour depicts the Bolton Synagogue in Wansey Street which opened in 1927. There was a synagogue in Walworth for around a century. The first synagogue opened in Heygate Street in 1867. The depicted Bolton Synagogue was demolished with the construction of the Heygate Estate during the 1970s.
