DescriptionDavid Rose worked as a civil engineer and painted in his spare time, taking evening classes at the Glasgow School of Art. When this painting was exhibited at the North Peckham Gallery in 1968 he was credited for his felicity in reproducing the different colours of the Elephant and Castle in the snow. This painting shows the station after some alterations were made in the 1920s, before it was demolished and rebuilt in the 1960s. It is one of a collection of watercolours that were presented to the London Borough of Southwark by the artist's daughter in 1966.
