DescriptionThere were several small independent breweries in Camberwell up to the end of the nineteenth century. Baily's Brewery dated from the preceding century. When the painting was exhibited in "Camberwell Past and Present" in 1938 the brewery was said to have "diffused the odour of its processes for a great distance around".On View
