DescriptionMedium fish hook. The shaft is made of a straight piece of pointed pearl shell, perforated at the upper part to attach the line. At the end is a sharp pointed hook of tortoise shell perforated with 3 round holes. The line is threaded through 2 holes from the end of the hook to the the top of the shaft.Polynesia, possibly Friendly Islands.
