DescriptionChinese foot-bound heeled shoe with a gold silk background along the sides and a tall black linen ankle guard. They are decorated with black and gold metal embroidary, blue floral motifs, metal spangles and a pink galloon around the top edge. The more ornate and skillfully sewn the boot, the more highly regarded the wearer, who would have sewed them herself.
