DescriptionAztec figure of the Mexican god Quetzalcoatl (God of the Winds). The figure has 2 faces, one on the stomach, one with a plumed headdress. It is hollow with pellets inside to create a rattle.
Hand of Tlaloc, god of rains, fertility and water. It has clenched fingers, and appears to have been carved to hold a small object, such as a rod. It is made of carved basalt with traces of white colouring; the sculpture is made of ordinary volcanic rock, as it was the tradition in Aztec sculpture.
