DescriptionSmall figure/model of a Japanese warrior with moving body parts and an inscribed design on his armour. The warrior's face has large protruding eyes and tongue. The armour is less elaborate than traditional depictions of Samurai warriors but somewhat similar. However the item also has similartities to a lighter version of armour called Lamellae, a series of small plates stiched together to make a flexible garment, worn over tunic and breeches underneath. This design was common across Japan, China and other parts of Central and Eastern Asia form the 5th century BC onwards. The figure is wihoout the type of helmet whihc is usually part of what we think of as later Samurai armour. but his head piece may be a top knot or head attachment.
