DescriptionWaist wrap mat of hibiscus fibre called ie'Sina. It is woven on the diagonal, the right side has the ends of the fibres teased out to produce a shaggy surface resembling sheepskin. This garment is rare and early in date. This may have been part of the collection brought to England by Captain Wilson collected on the voyage of the missionary ship 'The Duff' in 1796.On View
