DescriptionRoman burial urn. Made of black Upchurch-ware and decorated with barbotine dots. Upchurch-ware pottery was produced by kilns in the Upchurch marshes in Kent. Romans in Southwark used this type of urn to bury the ashes of the dead. This urn was found in Broad Street, London in 1872.On View
