DescriptionGilded metal heart charm, gold in colour. Crudely made from two brass sheets with a bobbled surface. Heart charms were worn commonly in East London to preserve good health or occasionally as love charms. This specimen was obtained from hawkers in Whitechapel at the price of one penny.
