b. 1905, d. 1999. Self-taught artist. Retired from work as a shorthand typist with tile makers Carter and Co. (1971) and began a successful second career as a painter in oils and watercolours. Elected President of the London Sketch Club, honorary life member of the Pastel Society Council and member of the United Society of Artists. Work hung at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Royal Society of Marine Artists.
