Born. 1939 in Doncaster, Yorkshire.
Producer of woodcuts and paintings in watercolour and oils. Works primarily focus on rural landscapes and still life-subjects.
Ralph Wardle was born at Skellow, Doncaster in 1939. He began his artistic training in 1955 at Doncaster College of Art. In 1956 Wardle was awarded First Prize in the Sunday Pictorial National Exhibition of Children's Art. In that same year, he enrolled at the Slade School of Art, London, and studied etching under Anthony Gross. In 1960 he received a University Diploma in Fine Art and also a Robert Ross scholarship from Slade. Between 1960 and 1989 Wardle taught art in a number of schools and adult learning environments.
In 2007 Wardle was elected a member of The Lake Arts Association, a society of fine artists based in the Lake District.
Wardle is a frequent exhibitor across the UK, particularly in the North and London.
