Beutlich was born in Lwówek, Poland.

Tadek Beutlich is best known as weaver of modenist tapestries. He also produced a number of striking prints, most of which were printed during the 1960s and 1970s. Beutlich studied in Germany and Italy before graduating in textiles from Camberwell School of Art and Crafts in 1950. He subsequently taught at Camberwell from 1951 to 1974. He was the subject of a touring retrospective exhibition in 1997 and was appointed MBE in 1993.
