DescriptionFake medieval food or apple scoop. Carved from bone by the forger J. Smith - also known as Sir Roach Smith. In box 1144. Writing on the bone says "Forgery on old bone, 1868 [or 66] by W or "R" S". meaning either William Smith aka Billy aka William Monk OR James "Roach" Smith who worked for Billy and Charley the aforementioned Wiiliam Monk/Smith and Charles Eaton). Note also four bored impressions into the bone on the scoop side, near the knuckle end.
