Description19th century fake of a figure said to be al-Hakem, the 6th Fatimid Caliph of Egypt. The carved male figure stands on a base engraved with Arabic style writing. He wears a headdress and holds 4-pronged tools in crossed hands. A leaf covers the genital area. It is made of terracotta covered with black varnish to make it resemble slate.On View
