DescriptionCalabash bowl. It has been blackened on the inside, and coloured red on the outside, decorated with mineral pigments, and sealed with a plant sap. Decoration includes a broad band around the rim on the inside: a design of alternating seed pods banded with parallel bands below and above. The design in the basin consists of a shield type design, bordered with coronated ornaments, leaves, circles and dots.
