    DescriptionOne of an identical pair of Fire-stirrers and pipe-rests from Japan. They are formed of a long, thin metal stick with embossed and inscribed design. It has a petal shaped attachment with smoothed ridged veins on a hinge at the end. This was designed to clean the opium residue from the inside of the pipe bowl.
