DescriptionBrown glazed stoneware bottle marked 'R. Whites' and 'No Deposit Charged'. R. Whites started making lemonade in 1845 and would have originally sold it in earthenware bottles such as this. These bottles were later phased out and replaced by clear glass ones. Glass bottles were cheaper to produce and more atttractive to the customer.
