DescriptionPainted terracotta whistle in the shape of a bird. It has a black head, orange breast and yellow wings; the back and tail have orange and green decoration with black lines. Henry Cuming identified the whistle as coming from China, but it is identical to whistles made in Mexico. It is possible that it was part of the trade goods accompanying Mexican silver to China.On View
