DescriptionSnuff spoon. It is made of turned wood and has been varnished.Snuff is a type of powdered tobacco flavoured with herbs and spices. It was popular in the 17th and 18th centuries and was thought to have medicinal properties. It was inhaled through the nose, and could be taken as a pinch between ones fingers or with the help of a device, such as a spoon.
