DescriptionPiece of mummy-mask. It would have been from the inner coffin of the mummy and was probably a likeness of the deceased. The face is gilded, with painted eyes, eyeborows, hair and beard. The deceased wears a brightly coloured headdress on top of which sits a winged sundisk, a symbol of rebirth in the afterlife.
