DescriptionTwo carved heads and upper bodies joined together as one dark sculpture moulded in Rye dough, depicting the Windsor Misers. The left figure is holding a quill in one hand and a coin in the other. There are other coins and small objects carved at the base of the sculpture. On the back are coarse cross-hatched markings and the word 'windsor' inscribed. From St. Georges Hall or Chaple Windsor Castle.

The Windsor Misers are based on a picture known as 'The Moneylender and his Wife' by Quentin Matsys (1466-1529), the blacksmith of Antwerp. It depicts two money-changers or bankers counting their coins and jewels.
