    DescriptionMiniature oil painting of unknown individual, thought by Cuming to be Sir Francis Drake. It has a circular frame with a narrow gilded rim and shows a middle-aged man with close cropped hair, moustache, grey beard and a long scar across right eyebrow. He is dressed in a black tunic with a red sash across the left shoulder, and a white collar with simple lace edging.
