DescriptionBuilt in 1790 as the York Street Chapel, the building was renamed after Robert Browning (he was baptised there in 1812). The building was inaugurated as the Browning Settlement in 1895, offering social and educational services for the local community. In 1899 it became the headquarters of the National Committee of Organised Labour on Old Age Pensions, which resulted in the Old Age Pensions Act in 1905.On View
