DescriptionOne of numerous inns with courtyards once lined Long Southwark, now Borough High Street, leading to London Bridge. The inn was one of the many galleried inns in Long Southwark. The first mention of it was in 1406, and in 1450 Jack Cade used the inn as his headquarters during his rebellion against Henry VI. Do we have anything more about this rebellion? In the Elizabethan period it was also used to stage plays and other public performances. The inn was demolished in 1889, but White Hart Yard remains sign-posted.On View
