DescriptionThis magnificent, 2,000-capacity church, with its great classical columns, was built in 1829 with money granted by Parliament after the battle of Waterloo. Its bells were cast from cannons captured at the battle. Extensively bombed in the Second World War, all of the surrounding buildings have gone and the area fronting it is currently being rebuilt with new housing. The Gregorian Arms was in existence in 1881 but was rebuilt in 'Tudor' style post-Second World War.On View
