    DescriptionOrnament made from a whale's tooth. Used as an important item in gift presentation and exchange. Tabua are worn around the neck and attached to kava bowls with plaited cord. This tabua was collected on one of the voyages of Captain James Cook. It was kept by Richard Cuming as a natural history specimen.
