    DescriptionPortrait of extravagant Mexican socialite, businesswoman, musician, artists' model and influential patron, Doña Dolores Olmedo (1908-2002); full name María de los Dolores Olmedo y Patiño Suarez. Doña is best known as being a close friend and supporter of Mexico's best known twentieth century artists, Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera and José Clemente Orozco. In 1935 Doña married British journalist Howard Phillips, the founder of English language magazine, Mexican Life. The couple separated in 1948.
