DescriptionStatuette of a female upon a three-layered pedestal. The figure has a dome-like head piece and large disc-shaped earings. Her arms are extended on her sides and bent at the elbow. She holds an object in each hand. Dressed in tight fitting garments, her breasts and stomach are predominant, which may hint at the religious sexual element of traditional devadasi roles, which continues despite being banned in 1988. India.
