DescriptionDesigned by architect and early photographer Francis Bedford the church could hold up to 2,000 people. Built in 1824, it reflected the location, the intensity of development, and the increased population of the area.
St George's was the daughter church to St Giles, the ancient church to the vast parish of Camberwell. St. George's is no longer a church and has been turned into flats. The canal was filled in in 1960.
