DescriptionWalking stick engraved with a finely-carved image of a Japanese lady at three points along its length. The top is rounded and decorated with a circular pattern.
As with many accessories, walking sticks became much more than simply something to lean on. For centuries we have been decorating and adorning these implements to show off our wealth and status, to hint at our interests, to make us laugh with comic additions or for ill intent, by using our sticks to conceal weapons or poisons.
