DescriptionCigar case of plaited cane. The inner section fits snugly into the outer lid, which has a darker chequer weave decoration. Both the lid and inner part are double-walled, with a layer of leaf encased in between. The inner mesh is exposed at the upper right corner. This little case is associated with the explorer and diplomat Robert Schomburgk. The Cumings bought a number of his items when he sold his collections when he returned from his travels, particularly from Guyana.On View
