DescriptionKylin. Kylin is the name of a mythical chimera creature. Elaborately carved in wood with notched decoration down spine, a thick long tail, claws, and extensive fur covering in swirls and waves. It has an open mouth with exposed tongue, spirals for a mane, and Chinese symbol on the crown of its head. The Kylin is said to appear with the imminent arrival or passing of a sage or ruler; it is a symbol of fertility, luck, protection, longevity and success.
