    DescriptionLime spatula of hard wood. It has a long flat pointed end and an egg-shaped handle with engraved decorative lines. It was used to convey lime to the mouth for chewing betel nut. The betel leaf and nut are combined to produce a drug that has the qualities of a stimulant. In some cultures the practice of chewing betel has important traditions behind it, and in many it is closely linked to marriage.
