    DescriptionRed-brown human hair from a female mummy, in a clear glass tube helpfully inscribed "fire proof foreign". The ends are stopped with cork plugs covered in red-pink velvet. This was a piece acquired from the Surrey museum and is originally from the artist, traveller, collector and diplomat Henry Salt, British consul general in Cairo from 1815.
