    DescriptionNetsuke in the form of a Japanese warrior. The figure leans forward on one foot with one hand in a fist and the other hand holding a large rectangular item under its arm. It wears a robe, breast plate and head gear. There are two small holes in the back for attaching to clothing. Netsuke were miniature sculptures invented in the 17th century as toggles for attaching small bags or boxes to mens clothing.
