DescriptionHigh arched bound-foot shoe, with a high piece of cloth on the heel. The heel is decorated with a floral and geometric pattern, and the shoe embroidered with a leaf and stem pattern. As the wearer’s feet would have been less than 3 inches she would have been a 'golden lotus' for achieving this prized length. Made of Red (symbolising ceremony and/or the first shoe), pink, turquoise and metallic thread.
