DescriptionHeart-shaped charm made of tin. It is coloured silver and brown, and decorated with a central shield and swirls around the edge. Heart charms were worn commonly in East London to preserve good health or occasionally as love charms. This specimen was obtained from hawkers in Whitechapel at the price of one penny.
